Sounds pretty good, Eddy. If you have a group of people who are keen to come then that is a great start. What I announced is something very informal – just a gathering at a pub, so there’s not really a lot to organise. Six months ago, Mike Gratton upgraded his laptop to the next Ubuntu release over the WiFi network in the city, but that was about the only thing relating to computers that we did.

I want to hold a GNOME 2.14 release party in San Francisco Bay Area on 2006-Mar-18.

Do you have any advice?

Things I assume I should do:
* Have GNOME 2.14 installed in a laptop to present. Check.
* Do a short presentation based on the Release Notes. Working on this.

Things I'm worried about:
* Small venue.
* Short notice (it's 2006-Mar-16 today).
* Since the party will coincide with our campus LUG meeting, we can't "do" alcohol. :(
