I really like kitchenware stores. They exude a certain warmth and humanity that you don't find in other sorts of shops. I think it has to do with all the ceramic and stainless steel and the bittiness of all the different products that are laid out. Everything is useful, everything has a purpose. Walking into one of these stores, you can almost smell the enticing aromas of the many dishes that are to be made from the items inside.

Winter is a tough season. It's cold and wet and grey and I don't like it at all. I find that it is very easy to get down on yourself in winter. So, to counter winter's harsh cruelty, I am going to write once every day about something that I like. I will start tomorrow!
