Suggestions for new books

Posted by Tim Riley Thu, 15 Dec 2005 05:44:00 GMT

When I left Commander, my co-workers kindly gave me a Dymocks voucher as a parting gift. So, this weekend, I am looking to pick up some new books.

Besides Old Twentieth, a science fiction novel by Joe Haldeman, and perhaps the latest Matthew Reilly novel, I don’t really have many other specific ideas about books I would like. So, I would be happy to hear any suggestions; please educate me!

I've been reading "The Weather Makers" by Tim Flannery on and off the for last few weeks. Find it to be a very interesting book, even for people not too interested in environmental stuff. Kevin Mitnick's "Art of Intrusion" is currently my bedtime read, but it doesn't seem to have that much stuff in there I don't already know. I found his "Art of Deception" a much more captivating book. Interesting nonetheless.
